The Mercedes-AMG® S-Class S 450, S-500 and S 560 use premium gas fuel types and get a combined 21 mpg, with fuel economy of up to 27 mpg on the highway. The 9G-TRONIC transmission is a nine-speed automatic and it can be paddle-shifted for additional driver control. The S 450 models generate 362 horsepower from a 3.0L V6 biturbo engine, while S 560 models have 463 horsepower thanks to a 4.0L V8 biturbo engine.

Both S 450 and S 560 models in the 4MATIC® AWD trim come with all-wheel drive. The S 560 and Mercedes-AMG® S 63 and S 65 models are also available in coupe or cabriolet convertible styles, and Mercedes-Benz offers a plug-in hybrid electric option with the E 560.
